The underground royal commission does not
just examine Canada’s recent past, it also examines what kind
of future we wish to forge for our country. In this sense, it should
be of great interest and concern to Canadian youth. After all, it
is they who will have to live with the consequences of decisions and
actions made today. With this mind, we have prepared teacher resource
packages based on the research results of The underground
royal commission Report.
These materials are designed to be used in the classroom and focus
on the three central themes studied by the underground
royal commission– Canadian fiscal policy, Canadian
defence policy, and the accountability of Canadian political institutions.
Each section has background information on the findings of The
urc Report, questions raised by the findings, suggested
exercises and activities for students, and links to related resources
for further exploration.
